Make Hopping Good Fun for Residents at Easter

Easter is a time for celebration and reflection, and senior living communities can offer something for all their residents, as well as families and friends:

· Traditional Easter Egg Hunt. Invite residents to bring their families in for a traditional hunt with goodies for the kids and the Easter Bunny for photos.

· Adult Easter Egg Hunt. Indoors or outdoors, let residents hunt for eggs with prizes like coupons for free coffee or drinks in the community’s coffee shop/bar, travel-size toiletries, and vintage candies that hark back to their childhood days. Have a photo booth where residents can take pictures wearing bunny ears and other Easter- or Spring-themed costume items.

· Best bunny contest. Have residents post photos online of their pets wearing bunny ears and let them vote on the “best bunny.”

· Onsite Easter service. Have a service for those who would like to attend and/or partner with area churches to provide transportation to services in the area.

· Easter parade. Invite residents to wear their Easter finery and parade along a walking/bike path around the community. After the parade, provide refreshments and a showing of the movie Easter Parade.

· Easter brunch. Invite a chef from a local restaurant to create a special menu for Easter brunch. Don’t forget the mimosas and Easter-themed centerpieces (made from flowers from your grounds and gardens).

Easter is the beginning of Spring in many parts of the country, so this is a perfect time to remind residents about your outdoor amenities through your newsletter, social media, and other platforms. Consider efforts such as a pop-up shop with a local garden center, a community flower show, a springtime race/walk, a community picnic (make it an annual event), and the best barbeque contest.
